A Data Centre Technician Electrician with a focus on data network installation is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems that support the infrastructure of data networks in various environments, such as data centers, hospitals, offices, and any facility where computer systems are critical. This role specifically involves working with low-voltage, weak-current systems like data cabling, fiber optics, and networking equipment, ensuring the delicate and precise installation required for effective data transmission. Unlike general building electricians, this role requires expertise in the installation of data networks, not just standard electrical systems such as lighting or power.

This position is suitable for an electrician with at least 5 years of experience working with weak-current systems, including the delicate handling of network cabling and related infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot data network infrastructure including low-voltage systems, fiber optic cabling, and communication equipment.
  • Work in environments such as data centers, hospitals, offices, and other locations where computer and network systems are critical.
  • Ensure the precise and delicate installation of network cabling systems, following industry standards for weak-current electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with IT and network professionals to ensure data networks are installed efficiently and function optimally.
  • Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and testing to ensure data networks are operating reliably and with minimal downtime.
  • Follow safety regulations, data network standards, and local electrical codes specific to low-voltage installations.

Skills Required:

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in installing and maintaining data network systems, including Ethernet cabling, structured cabling systems, fiber optics, and other communication infrastructure.
  • Expertise in working with weak-current systems and handling delicate data transmission equipment.
  • Familiarity with data center network infrastructure and low-voltage requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and schematics specific to data network installations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail in managing network system integrity.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for data networks, including TIA/EIA (Telecommunications Industry Association), BICSI guidelines, and other relevant regulations.

Salary

We have different positions for electrician from junior to senior engineering positions. The salary range vary between €600-€900 NETT/week.
